MY HEALTH RECORD | WILL I GET MY PATHOLOGY RESULTS?

  • Under the "share by default" rules for My Health Record, most routine pathology results are now available to view immediately upon upload, while specific complex tests remain locked behind a short five-day holding period.
  • Some of the benefits of having all your results in the one location include:
    1. keeping track of the tests you have had and when you had them
    2. monitoring your results over time
    3. improving access to your health information by your healthcare team
    4. reducing unnecessary tests and scans
    5. helping your healthcare team save time and focus on your care

Immediate vs. Locked Results

Immediate Access:

General pathology tests (like standard blood counts and basic urine tests) show up right away with no waiting period.

5-Day Lock:

Complex tests remain locked for five calendar days to give doctors time to review findings before patients see them. These include:

Anatomical pathology

Cytopathology

Genetic tests
